We have had so many calls asking us how to get to the printer head cleaning utilities on an Epson printer that we thought it was worth adding some information on the site and that is the reason for this brief post.
We are embarrassed that when asked on a Windows 8 or 8.1 operating system, we have no clue and we are having to play catch up and learn. We will offer more info on this shortly however, in the meantime there is a couple of links below to some articles by Epson on the subject that should help.

Without Classic Shell installed
- Position mouse on the screen in the bottom right hand corner and the “harms” will pop out
- Click on “settings”
- Check the settings list that appears on the right and click on “control panel” if in the list
- If not in the list, click on “change PC settings”
- In the bottom left hand corner the control panel icon/button will appear, click on this
- Under the “Hardware & Sound” select “devices and printers”
- Right click on your Epson printer and select “preferences” which will open the Epson print driver
- You can now select the maintenance tab and select “head clean”
With Classic Shell installed
- Click on “Windows icon” in the lower left hand corner
- Select “printers”
- Right click on your Epson printer and select “preferences” which will open the Epson print driverYou can now select the maintenance tab and select “head clean”
