Excalibur Craft Show – Thanks to

HobbyPrint attended the Excalibur Craft Show on Saturday 7th February 2026 and I would like to thank the many customers who made the day a success for me personally and for HobbyPrint® overall. Interest was high in our product range, in particular Sublimation Printing.

HobbyPrint® had stopped all show activity before the pandemic but decided to come back to the Excalibur craft show to try to interest crafters and hobbyists in sublimation and edible printing. Edible printing is still slow but will get there however, interest and sales of the sublimation printing is growing rapidly.

Saturday’s show was the third craft show that we have attended since our return and clearly, sublimation printing is on the rise. Printing mugs and T-shirts are always the starting point in the sublimation journey and it then develops onto other more varied items such as photo slates and so on. Hobbyprint® is looking forward to watching how sublimation printing develops further at the show.

A couple of issues came up that I want to address, those being:

  • PhotoPlus and Ice brand Matte Coated Photo Paper Not Feeding through a Canon Printer
  • Printer settings, downloading printer drivers and how to achieve high quality printing
  • Sublimation printing Brown instead of Black – Customer is not using HobbyPrint® products
  • Colour shift after changing suppliers of Sublimation Transfer Paper and inks
  • Ink Tank printer versus Cartridge printers for sublimation printing
  • HobbyPrint® weekly Zoom meetings – To discuss printers and Applications, inks & papers
  • Ask HobbyPrint® – Any question related to

Many questions were ask about using printers and getting good results with the printed image or output. I hope that some was answered on the day but on reflection, maybe a better approach would be to post an article on each subject giving a full answer backed up with demonstrations.

So, we have decided to do individual articals, with video explanations, on all of these issues over the next 2 weeks or so. That may extend by a few days but they will be done as soon as possible. In discussion with Simon, we will try and get notification out to all via Excalibur with a link back to our articles.

We had planned to start zoom meetings this month, with our sublimation printer customers. The idea being to go through how to set up their new printer, downloading the printer drivers and through creating an image and printer settings required for quality printing. We would also cover transferring the images onto say, mugs.

Another thing that we will add is regular zoom meetings to go through how to set up and use a printer to get superb results. We will look at how we can extend it to cover more of our products.

We will introduce
